Refund Policy

At Abdools Catering Equipment, we have partnered with food service, hospitality, and mining operations across the Northern Cape since 1998. We understand that purchasing commercial catering machinery is a significant capital investment.

Because we operate in a Business-to-Business (B2B) capacity and supply heavy-duty industrial equipment, our refund policy differs strictly from standard domestic retail stores. Please familiarize yourself with our financial and refund protocols outlined below.

1. General Refund Principles

  • Commercial Intent: All goods sold by Abdools Catering Equipment are designed and manufactured strictly for commercial, industrial, or professional kitchen environments.

  • Finality of Sales: Once a proforma invoice is accepted, payment is cleared, or equipment is ordered from a manufacturer, the sale is considered final. We do not offer cash or bank refunds for change of mind, buying errors, or project cancellations.

  • Equipment Compatibility: It is the buyer's sole responsibility to ensure that the ordered machinery fits their kitchen's physical dimensions and matches the available utility connections (e.g., correct gas types, water filtration requirements, or 3-phase electrical power). Refunds will not be granted for site incompatibility.

2. Circumstances Where a Refund or Credit May Apply

While we maintain a strict policy on commercial sales, Abdools Catering Equipment honors fair business practices and complies with South African commercial law. Refunds or corporate account credits are strictly evaluated under the following conditions:

A. Unavailability of Stock

If you complete a payment for an item that is subsequently found to be completely unavailable due to sudden manufacturer discontinuation or unexpected supply chain depletion, and an alternative unit cannot be sourced to your satisfaction, we will issue a 100% full refund within 7 business days.

B. Incurable Manufacturing Defects

If a newly delivered machine exhibits a major structural or mechanical defect upon its very first certified installation, the process is as follows:

  1. An accredited technician must inspect the machine to verify the factory defect.

  2. If the manufacturer or Abdools cannot repair the unit or supply an exact replacement within a commercially reasonable timeframe, a full refund or a 100% store credit will be issued to your account.

3. Strict Exclusions (No Refunds Granted)

Abdools Catering Equipment will absolutely not issue a refund, credit, or exchange under the following conditions:

  • Uncertified Installation: If a gas, refrigeration, or 3-phase electrical machine malfunctions and you cannot provide a valid Certificate of Compliance (CoC) from a registered, accredited installer.

  • Power & Environmental Damage: Equipment damaged due to local power surges, low-voltage drops, or scale build-up caused by a lack of required water filtration systems.

  • Wear and Tear Items: Consumable parts such as heating elements, thermostat dials, glass panes, rubber seals, drive belts, and blades are completely excluded from refunds once the machine has been accepted and used.

  • Custom Fabricated Goods: Any stainless steel tables, extraction hoods, or specialized shelving built to your kitchen's custom dimensions cannot be refunded under any circumstances.

4. Approved Refund Processing & Administrative Fees

In the rare, exceptional instance where Abdools Catering Equipment management grants a written exemption to authorize a return for a refund on a standard stock item:

  • Restocking Fee: The refund will be subject to a minimum 15% restocking and administrative fee deduced from the original purchase price. This covers factory testing, repackaging, and administrative handling.

  • Logistical Costs: Original delivery fees are non-refundable. The client is entirely responsible for the cost of safely transporting the crated, unused machine back to our warehouse in Kathu.

  • Method of Refund: All approved refunds are processed strictly via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) into the original bank account or corporate entity name that made the initial payment. For security and auditing purposes, we never issue cash refunds under any circumstances.
